1) Due Process Law refers to the national government. It asserts that the goverment must follow laws and procedures without violating people's natural rights. The "due process law" traces back to chapter 39 of the doctrine, the Magna Carta of 1215. The Magna Carta explains that no individuals rights must be violated "except by the lawful judgement of his peers or by the law of the land". Other examples regarding the due process law includes the 14th amendment, and 5th amendment, both of which not only places limits on the federal government, but the state governments as well.
2) Procedural Due Process is a rule in which the government has to make decisions deliberately before they take away a person's rights. For example, if a person is charged with a crime, whether its murder or a misdemeanor, the person in charge must know exactly what crime he's been charged with. This shows the rights of the individuals. A person cannot be charged and arrested for one particular crime and be prosecuted for a different crime.
3) Substantive Due Process is another rule in which the government has to give a reason to interfere with the laws. This is based on the idea whether some rights are "fundamental", or more important. Some examples of fundamental rights include the right to marry and have kids, freedom of speech, the right to vote legally, religious freedom, etc.
4) The doctrine of Incoporation is a document that determines whether or not the Bill of Rights puts restrictions, in legal interpretations, on state and federal laws. For example, in the court case, Gitlow v. New York, a man named Benjiman Gitlow was charged "criminal anarchy" after publishing a statement that had no established order. The Supreme Court thought this was unfair and upheld Gitlow's conviction, stating that the government can only punish speech if it advocates to the overthrow of government.
